  • What is brick repointing and why does it matter?

    Brick repointing is the removal and replacement of failing mortar between bricks. Mortar is the sacrificial element of a brick wall it is designed to erode before the brick does. When mortar deteriorates, joints open up, allowing water inside the wall. In Ottawa’s climate, that water freezes, expands, and causes serious structural damage over time. BRICK SEALING IN OTTAWA
